Inspect Your ATV's Shocks
Your ATV's shock seals should be Inspected for any signs of oil seepage after every ride. If you find there is oil on the shock shaft or on the bumper, then you need to get the shock serviced.
It is important to make sure the rubber shock bumper, which is the little rubber nub at the bottom of the shock shaft, is in good shape. If it is dry-rotted or damaged, you should replace it with a new one.
If you ride on a regular basis, you should pull all the shock bolts and make sure they’re greased properly every few months . Because of the terrains that we push our ATVs over, shocks and springs can become dinged and tarnished. A set of shock covers will protect the shocks from rocks and mud. The covers will also keep them looking new. Just make sure to remove the covers and clean the shocks after every ride.
